In all of my many years of boating, the Van Isle Marina in Sidney BC on Vancouver Island is the best managed marina that I have ever seen. Impeccable facilities, moorage for 100’+ yachts down to small fishing boats, always helpful and alert staff, 24 hour video security, full service boatyard, large dry stowage yard, two sided fuel dock, Canada Customs dock, pumpout dock, laundry, showers and the best restaurant in town all located just 15 minutes from Victoria International Airport (YYJ) and on the door step to one of the best cruising grounds on Earth. Our Quality Time Remaining couldn’t be higher!

They get 3 stars because the over priced parking and almost no space for trailers

The most competent Boat Mechanic I ever came across. Honest, Never overcharges. I have owned boats for 30 years. I have been using Darren for 10 years he has helped me out a few times even on the water on a long weekend with guests. He has alway winterized my boat, plastic wrapped and got it ready in the spring. His Mild and Calm manner puts you at ease.

Il n’existe pas moins bon service ! Depuis plusieurs années que nous avons un bateau sur la rivière je n’ai jamais entendu quiconque content du service de Monsieur Richard. Il met les bateau à l’eau et ferme sa marina sans prévention.

UPDATE Nov 21 2022: general manager from Hurst contacted me and apologized for the delay in communication and resolution, which is much appreciated. She wanted to make it right, and so my impression of customer service has improved.ORIGINAL POST: So disappointed! Very little respect shown to a new boat, and “zero” reply from management. I just had a winterization done, and my perfectly clean new boat was returned with oil spilled all over the engine compartment and running down into the bilge (bad for the environment!!!). I immediately wrote AND called the general manager, who did not even have an employee follow up, let alone contact me personally. At a cost of $700 (a 24% increase since last year), I would expect much more from Hurst. Makes me wonder what other shortcuts were taken?? Total money grab. Won’t be going back.

Our hosts were wonderful people and very accommodating to my dogs and I. The area is absolutely stunning and if you are into boating this is the place to be. We loved watching the sunset every night from our cabin. The pool was lovely too (wish we could've used it more but it was so windy while we were there). Our dogs loved it as well. Thank you for making a stressful time in our lives much easier with such a beautiful and relaxing property.
